PARA SCIENCE - The North American Paranormal Research Conference
PARA SCIENCE plans to be one of the first largest FREE paranormal conferences devoted strictly to the advancement of research and study in the paranormal. Even if you cannot make this event, please help by supporting our desire to advance paranormal research.
I am sure you are probably wondering what the ParaScience Conference is about, or possibly shook your head with the feeling of "not another paranormal conference". If you felt that way, I completely agree with you. The abundance of paranormal conferences has taken over, but the one thing I fail to see is anything being discussed at these conferences that involves actual research and development of the field. It is the same people attending the events as speakers, trying to showcase their books, tv shows, and so-called abilities while the research behind the field remains stagnant and ignored.
The idea behind ParaScience which will take place in 2012, will be to feature the top researchers in the field, not the celebrities. A conference to promote and discuss each other's work, research and case studies. To deliberate and discuss ethical standpoints behind the research and to build professional relationships with each other in hopes to further advance the paranormal field. There will be no showcasing of paranormal celebrities, no autographs or book signings, and definitely no screenings of upcoming television shows, movies or documentaries. This conference is dedicated to the research and those doing as such behind the scenes.
With so many conferences popping up around the country, it has become apparent the desire to make money in the field. While there is nothing wrong with this, and there will always be paranormal celebrity conferences, ParaScience will be different, very different.
ParaScience believes that knowledge and education does not have a price, therefore the conference will be completely FREE to all attendees. We felt that this was a crucial step in order to ensure that the proper message was being sent to the paranormal community. We will accept donations to those that want to help fund the conference, but payment is not required to attend this event. There will be no fees to attend any part of the conference whatsoever, and the conference will be funded entirely through donations and the PSIRO organization.
The event is currently under development, so a location, date and time are still to be determined, however, the event will take place somewhere on Long Island, NY in the year 2012. We chose to announce the event years in advance to not only allow the paranormal research field to determine their interest in attending, but also to allow the event to be developed and structured correctly. Since this event is years in the making, we hope to offer one of the most successful paranormal research conferences dedicated to advancing the paranormal research field.
